I am an abstract expressionistic painter working in mixed media, resin and mainly acrylic and acrylic mediums. I love to experiment with different processes and incorporate them in my work. I work mainly with layers of texture and colour in my paintings. The layers of texture and colour add depth and you can visualize images in the texture. I find this is the exciting part, as the images I see are typically different than how another individual sees it. The effect of the images created through the texture and colour draw out emotions from the viewer which I find amazing.

Wabi Sabi is the main theme or message. There is ’Perfection in Imperfection’. This is important to me as it makes me stay grounded and not worry too much about the results. Nothing in life is perfect so why should it be in art as well. When painting, if my work takes me down a different path in which I didn’t intend, I work with it as it adds a different layer, an element of surprise and interest. My paintings are at times based initially on a landscape or photo but in my own interpretation through colour and texture and movement.
