Brecca Loh is an expressive abstract artist. She grew up in southern Connecticut with easy access to New York City with all its artistic and cultural influences. Brecca specializes in colorful and emotionally rich expressionist paintings using acrylics and mixed media. There is an ethereal and healing quality in her work.

Brecca has attended abstract painting retreats and workshops. Having painted with a small group of abstract artists every week under the guidance of a mentor for a number of years. She was a member of the Experimental Group at the Rockport Art Museum and has been juried into numerous exhibitions. Brecca had the opportunity to do a residency at the Vermont Studio Center, the largest international artists and writers’ residency program in the United States. She was later one of 35 artists selected by the Vermont Studio Center to be part of the 35th Anniversary Vermont Alumnx Exhibition. She was chosen by ‘All She Makes’ to be part of their international curated gallery of women artists. And, most recently, Brecca had a solo exhibit at the University of Vermont Medical Center.

I specialize in colorful and emotionally rich abstract expressionist paintings using acrylics and mixed media. My paintings are about the harmony of colors and the feelings that they provoke. To me, colors have a language. They speak to one another. My process is to create a dance of colors that foster a sense of intimacy and wonder for the viewer. By painting in a non-representational way it allows the viewer to bring their personal experiences and interpretations to the canvas. The painting then becomes theirs not mine.
