Biography


SHORT BIO

Nicky Lana Hensel made her way from her birth-town of Vernon, British Columbia to Montreal, Quebec, where she currently lives and works. 

For over 20 years, painting has been a means for the artist to slip away from the present, in order to tap into a historic era and mood she loves.

Artistic approach

ARTISTIC APPROACH

Inspired by Great Masters such as John Singer Sargent, Renoir, Monet, Gainsborough and 
Turner, Hensel guides her brush to interpret vivid landscapes and portraits of Paris, 
London, Venice, New York and most recently, Montreal. 

Hensel’s artwork has also been influenced by the the opulent world of the 18th and 19th century European aristocracy, evident in her confident brushstrokes and rich palette.
