Je suis un photographe indépendant, qui depuis quelques années aime créer de l'art abstrait

Born in Düsseldorf Germany, Sonja’s passion for photography began with the gift of her first 35mm camera when she was 16 years old. Her dream of becoming a professional photographer was realized many years later in Montreal, Canada where she worked as a commercial photographer specializing in portraiture.

Teaching developing and darkroom skills, has given Sonja a technical knowledge of photography that benefits her to this day. These fundamental skills combined with technological advances have allowed Sonja to pursue her passion: creating impressionist, abstract art in photo images.

Sonja’s adopted home city of Montreal has been very accepting of her gallery expositions and her café displays are always enthusiastically received. Sonja continues to learn and explore her medium in quiet solitude and in the company of like-minded artists through her active participation in the many clubs and associations of which she is a member. Her artistic images have won several awards with the MCC (Montreal Camera Club) and CAPA (Canadian Association for Photography Art), a testament to Sonja’s ability to capture the beauty and the small details which most people don’t notice but all appreciate.
