Andrada’s painting consists of delicate landscapes, soft, even velvety, often evanescent and seductive... mysterious. Sometimes you may see a glimpse of moving waters, transfigured unicorns, roaring sea, abstract profile of poplars, relics, tinted black colored tracks (which contrast with blue which intertwine), golden arabesque, mysterious trees in the dark of the night, landscapes constructed with lights and shadows, amber textures.
All the pictorial elements exert a suggestive charm, especially in their infinite variations of grays and blues, which give a meaning to the dreamlike and evocative works. The colors here have a deep sound between transparency and diffuse light; they are at the dissolution of the matter, which turns into a fairy tale.
It is a musical and lyrical image: these two realities actually proceed in parallel. It seems as the painting comes from darkness toward the light.

I use colors and light in the same manner as a musician uses notes to create harmony. A simple brush stroke or knife movement can create a special mood, induce mystery to a painting. The colors harmonized with the shapes and the lights give birth to a connection that makes them to work together and to create harmony. 
My painting process involves working with textures, multiple layers of paint and mixed media or raw pigments. Many of my works have very sophisticated textures, inspired by a real teacher: the powerful, dramatic and serene natural world. I like to incorporate different materials in my paintings, especially handmade paper and fibres, because they give a unique feeling to each work. The textures created make the viewer to want to touch the painting, to feel the creative process and to direct to personal reflection. 
Another great inspiration is my love for the underwater world. I’m an avid scuba diver and I like to create the feeling of total quietness and tranquility, which only underwater you can have it. When I cannot dive, I create my special reef and I deep dive in my work. I wish to create a different emotion to each person depending on mood, light, and his own story.
