I am an Ottawa-based watercolour and mixed media artist and illustrator. I also teach watercolour both in person and online. My family taught me to work in ceramics at a young age, and I have had the privilege of growing up around other artists. Although most of my academic education is was not directly in the arts, I did attend the Ottawa School of Art for watercolour, and Algonquin College for photography. I have been hired by the CBC Ottawa for their ’Make Change’ fundraiser for the Ottawa Food Bank. I am also one of the co-founders of the annual Wall Candy Art Expo in Ottawa.

My art is my soul. What I create is about nature, but it is also created as close to nature as possible (with as many natural and sustainable products as I can source). I am inspired by minerals, animals, and the transformation of the natural world from emergence (baby wildlife) to decay (rust, and mold). Of particular import in my work is the representation of natural interconnectivity, centring largely on pollinators, fungal networks, and food systems. I have a diverse academic background in visual communication, food, health, and ontology. My goal is to use my art to participate in advocacy for a more empathic approach to the lived experiences of plants, animals, and people. And to encourage appreciation for the interdependent relationships of all living beings.
