Barbara Lapointe est une artiste autodidacte originaire du Saguenay. Titulaire d'une maîtrise en bibliothéconomie de l'Université McGill, elle travaille comme bibliothécaire dans une école primaire à Montréal. Son cheminement créatif débute en 2021, consacrant son temps libre à la peinture dans son atelier ou en plein air.
