UN REGARD VERS L’AVENIR?
 
2023

Je combine  ma technique de peindre avec l’acrylique, en gardant une touche de surprise digitale pour une collection en cours qui se terminera en 2024.

Je voyage, et j’entreprend une nouvelle  démarche multidisciplinaire d’ une série influencée par l’art et la spiritualité nord-ouest de la Colombie-Britannique.  Celle-ci sera présentée en exposition en 2024.
Ceci en poursuivant aa temps partielle la médecine de campagne.

Enfance/jeunesse
1960-80

Je suis Montréalaise de naissance. Mes parents ont choisi pour leur famille une vie urbaine démarquée à mes yeux par l’ intégration de la langue anglaise et de leur choix de vocations tel la douane et les oeuvres de charité internationales. De nature introvertie, je ressens encore le souvenir de rechercher jeune comment exprimer mon énergie créatrice et mon désir de partir à la découverte du monde. Dès ma tendre enfance je développe le monde imaginaire de mes passions actuelles, en passant par le dessin, la couture, la sculpture et la danse moderne. Mon inspiration d’intégrer ma nature artistique vient en partie de ma grand-mère paternelle. Aînée d’une famille de cultivateurs de Mont-Tremblant, elle m’a initiée à huit ans à la couture et la broderie traditionnelle. Je ne peux pas ignorer l’effet de sa présence. 

Vie Adulte
1981-2016

Ce sont mes hautes études à McGill et l’Université de Montréal qui vont m’offrir la chance d’étudier dans plusieurs domaines dont les arts et la médecine. Je réalise ainsi le rêve de dépasser les frontières comme soignante et de photographier des douzaines de pays.

En maintenant cette mission de vie, je sens épanouir parallèlement mes aptitudes autodidactes d’artiste-peintre entourée de mes trois jeunes enfants et partenaires, nouvelles sources inépuisables d’inspiration.

Les maitres peintres canadiens qui me marquent sont encore Jean-Paul Riopelle et Tom Thompson. Au niveau mondial, se sont Jackson Pollock et Gerhard Richter qui m’impressionnent. Au file des ans, passeront apprentissages formels et explorations personnelles pour y reconnaître mon style s’affirmer.

La prochaine collection sera présentée en 2022 après un retour de l’étranger.
2023 Ouverture d’un studio en Colombie-Britannique pour y poursuivre mon étude de la culture régionale, l’art mural.
 
POURQUOI LES COLLECTIONS RÉCENTES?

Les années récentes ont clarifié mes ressentis spirituel et artistique. En prenant la route quotidienne des montagnes et lacs des Laurentides, les tableaux des collections “La magie de Tremblant” et “A Path among Trees” ont pris formes: La nature est belle, mais elle est fragilisée, tout comme nous. 
En réponse à cela, j’ai eu besoin d’un apprentissage de retour vers l’exploration intérieur d’où peindre depuis  2019 les oeuvres de ‘Within’: Ou With-in. 


2020

1-‘LES ESSENTIELS’ 

Pendant le confinement de la Pandémie du printemps 2020, mon coeur déborde de gratitude envers la générosité et le courage des personnes qui sont demeurées aux postes de soutiens, de soins. Elles sont Les ‘Essentiels’ au Québec. 
Pendant ce temps, la tragédie de Lloyd aux États-Unis stimule le ‘black lives matters’. Une noirceur de tristesse, de honte m’envahissent.
Ainsi prennent sens  de nouvelles toiles.

2-‘MALENA ‘pour le projet ‘Prix du Luxembourg-2020

Quand j’ai appris le décès de Ennio Morricone, j’ai réécouté une grande partie de son oeuvre musicale. Je me suis arrêtée sur la musique du film Malena pour un matin me réveiller et créer un Dyptique représentant les métaphores de la vie d’une femme:
La conception et la fertilité, la sexualité et la jeunesse, la grâce, la brutalité et aliénation, l’abandon et la déception.  Aujourd’hui cet oeuvre de 6’L et 4’H réside dans les bureaux de mon équipe des soutiens a domicile du CSSSS des Laurentides.

Childhood / youth  - The growth of a natural- soulful artist
 1960-80

 I am a Montrealer by birth.  My parents chose for their family an urban life distinguished in my eyes by the integration of the English language and their choice of vocations such as customs and international charities.  Being an  introverted nature, I still feel the memory of seeking young how to express my creative energy and my desire to discover the world.  From my early childhood I developed the imaginary world of my current passions, through drawing, sewing, sculpture and modern dance.  Part of my inspiration to integrate my artistic nature comes from my paternal grandmother.  The eldest of a farming family in Mont-Tremblant, she introduced me to traditional sewing and embroidery at the age of eight.  I cannot ignore the effect of her presence.


 Adult Life - The maturation of a privately shy  artist
 1981-2016

 It is my advanced studies at McGill and the University of Montreal that will give me the chance to study in several fields including the arts and medicine.  I thus realize the dream of crossing borders as a caregiver and photographing dozens of countries.

 By maintaining this life mission, I also experienced my self-taught skills as an artist-painter flourish. I enjoyed being surrounded by my three young children and two respective partners. They have been  inexhaustible sources of inspiration.
 The Canadian master painters who mark me are still Jean-Paul Riopelle and Tom Thompson.  Globally, Jackson Pollock and Gerhard Richter impressed me in ways no word can explain.. 

Over the years, there were  formal learnings and plenty of personal exploration which lead to reveal a distinct style.

 WHY THE RECENT COLLECTIONS?

 The recent years have clarified my spiritual and artistic feelings.  By taking the daily route of the mountains and lakes of the Laurentians, the paintings in the “La Magic de Tremblant” and “A Path among Trees” collections have taken shape: Nature is beautiful, but it is weakened, just like us….the human race.

In response to this, I needed an apprenticeship to return to the inner exploration from which to paint for a year the works of "Within": Or With-in.


 "THE ESSENTIALS"
During the containment of spring 2020, my heart overflows with gratitude for the generosity and courage of those women and men who have remained at work to deliver our country ‘the goods and services’ needed.  They are the so-called ‘les essentiels ‘ (the essentials) in Quebec.
Meanwhile, Lloyd's tragedy in the United States  fired up the 'black lives matters' movement:  A darkness of sadness, of shame came ‘through’ me.
 In response: The new paintings with black vases and radiant flowers took a social and intense visual voice.

 When I heard of Ennio Morricone's death, I listened to much of his musical work.  My inspiration flared up when I became intoxicated by the magical music of  the film ‘Malena’. I watched the film and woke up one morning to create this  metaphorical story of a woman’s life:
 Conception and fertility, sexuality and youth, grace, brutality and alienation, abandonment and disappointment.
It is looking for a permanent home.
