I am a Montreal based artist. In 2023,  I began my BFA - Major in Photography at Concordia University.
I have previously taken non-credited course in digital photography and editing at Concordia University, 35mm  black and white photography at the Saidye Bronfman Centre and Vanier College. I have also worked as a darkroom technician at John Abbott College. 

I have a deep passion for both analog (medium format, 35mm, Polaroid) and digital photography. I am also exploring Intaglio and photogravure printing. I'm drawn to the process of older printing practices and I am currently very excited to develop those skills.   

In addition, I have worked in journalism for more than two decades, looking at daily life with a critical eye, telling people’s stories with images, sound and words. 

I believe there are similarities between this occupation and the artist's gaze.

An artist too observes the world around them and translates aspects of that world using a myriad of tools and mediums, but an artists adds a deeply personal aspect to their observations, interpretations and representations. 

Using digital and analog media my goal is to create a conversation by exploring themes that include the environment, forgotten histories, place and space and concepts of family and traditions through a feminist gaze. 

Je suis une artiste basée à Montréal. En 2023, j'ai commencé mon baccalauréat en beaux-arts - majeure en photographie à l'Université Concordia.
Auparavant, j'ai suivi des cours non crédités en photographie numérique et en montage à l'Université Concordia, ainsi qu'en photographie noir et blanc 35 mm au Centre Saidye Bronfman et au Collège Vanier. J'ai également travaillé comme technicien de chambre noire au Collège John Abbott. 

J'ai une grande passion pour la photographie analogique (moyen format, 35 mm, polaroïd) et numérique. J'explore également l'impression en taille-douce et en photogravure. Je suis attiré par le processus des anciennes pratiques d'impression et je suis actuellement très enthousiaste à l'idée de développer ces compétences.

En outre, j'ai travaillé dans le journalisme pendant plus de vingt ans, observant la vie quotidienne avec un œil critique, racontant les histoires des gens avec des images, des sons et des mots.
Je pense qu'il existe une corrélation entre cette activité et celle d'un artiste.
Un artiste observe lui aussi le monde qui l'entoure et en traduit certains aspects à l'aide d'une myriade d'outils et de supports, mais un artiste ajoute un aspect profondément personnel à ses observations, interprétations et représentations.

En utilisant des médias numériques et analogiques, mon objectif est d'interrompre les stéréotypes et de créer une conversation menant à un changement social en explorant des thèmes tels que l'environnement, le rôle de la technologie en tant que suppresseur et outil de changement, les histoires oubliées et les concepts de la famille à travers un regard féministe. 

My images of plants and creatures that live a in wetland are part of a project on deconstructing spaces and recalling the pursuit of botany as a feminist act.

Wetlands play an essential role in the health of our planet.  They cover a small percentage of the planet's land mass (3%), but they can store an immense amount of CO2. 
In this series I examine some of the elements of this ecosystem. By breaking down a scene to its components, isolating them and removing them from their surroundings, I hope to show the beauty of the flora and fauna that live in these spaces.     

My goal is to contribute to the century’s old tradition of botanical illustrations.  
Work as a botanical illustrator was considered a highly respected profession, and significantly, one that noble women could practice in the 18th and 19th century . Although their contributions to science have rarely been fully recognized, it did contribute to women’s education and “an early tradition of female science.”  - Fiona Curran.   

My intention is to recall that history. 

I use digital and analog cameras (35mm, Polaroid) and photo editing software.      
My prints, except the Polaroids, are done on high quality fine art photo rag paper using archival pigments and are available on both canvas or jet ink digital prints. 

Mes images de plantes et de créatures qui vivent dans les zones humides font partie d'un projet visant à déconstruire et à rappeler la poursuite de la botanique comme un acte féministe.

Les zones humides jouent un rôle essentiel dans la santé de notre planète.  Elles ne couvrent qu'un faible pourcentage de la masse terrestre de la planète (3 %), mais elles peuvent stocker une immense quantité de CO2. 
Dans cette série, j'examine certains des éléments de cet écosystème. En décomposant une scène en ses composants, en les isolant et en les détachant de leur environnement, j'espère montrer la beauté de la flore et de la faune qui vivent dans ces espaces.     

Mon objectif est également de contribuer à la tradition séculaire des illustrations botaniques.  
Le travail d'illustrateur botanique était considéré comme une profession très respectée et, fait significatif, une profession que les femmes de la noblesse pouvaient exercer aux 18e et 19e siècles. Bien que leur contribution à la science ait rarement été reconnue à sa juste valeur, elle a contribué à l'éducation des femmes et à "une tradition précoce de science féminine."  - Fiona Curran.   

Mon intention est de rappeler cette histoire. 

Mes tirages sont réalisés sur du papier photo chiffon de haute qualité utilisant des pigments d'archives, sur toile ou sur impression numérique à jet d'encre.
