Biography

 
Grâce Pégéron grew up in France and the United States. She is currently based in Mèze, France. 

Originally an academically trained painter, she moved away from the cotton canvas, called professionally by a bigger one… in cinema. 

After two decades of a career in screenwriting, she returned to painting with self-portraits, laying bare her wounds in works that demand our attention. Is it the artist who guides the brushes or the brushes that lead the artist?

Artistic approach

 
My artistic journey began at the Beaux-Arts in Nice, France, where I had the opportunity to explore different forms of artistic expression. I quickly developed a deep desire to distance myself from figurative art. I felt that what I was doing could be replicated by anyone and didn't resonate with my inner self. I was looking for 'something different' that could convey emotions and messages beyond mere visual representation.
