Biography

Born in the greater Toronto area,J.R.Newton studied at OCAD University ,as well as the Academy of realist art.He has been a professional artist for the last 25 years.

Artistic approach

J.R.Newton’s focus is to master traditional classical oil painting,in the techniques of the Old Masters.Studying the Old Masters encouraged  JR Newton to develop a sense of understanding of technique and visual language that would enhance his narrative visions. They made aware of the importance of form, colour and technique, which brought forth his poetic visions.
