Biography
Born in Beauce. She is currently completing a D.E.S.S. in art, research-creation component. In 2018, she completed a short graduate program in Study of Artistic Practice at the University of Quebec in Rimouski. In 1990, she obtained a B.A. in Visual Arts from the University of Quebec in Chicoutimi, she also studied at Espace verre, the University of Montreal, Concordia and Calgary. Artist and teacher, her practice is multidisciplinary: drawing, painting and glass work allow her to express the fragility of life. Her pictorial influences take on a rather expressionist form. Since 1981, she has participated in group exhibitions and a dozen solo exhibitions. She is a member of the Canada Council for the Arts, a signatory member of the PSEC, a member of the Glass Art Association of Canada, the RAAV and the 4-Arts studio (artist-run center).

En 2018, elle a complété un programme court de deuxième cycle en Étude de la pratique artistique à l’université du Québec à Rimouski. En 1990, elle obtient un baccalauréat en arts visuels de l’université du Québec à Chicoutimi, elle étudie aussi à Espace verre, à l’université de Montréal, Concordia et Calgary. Artiste et enseignante sa pratique est multidisciplinaire : le dessin, la peinture et le travail du verre lui permettent d’exprimer la fragilité de la vie. Ses influences picturales revêtent une forme plutôt expressionniste. Depuis 1981, elle a participé à des expositions collectives et une dizaine d’expositions individuelles. Membre du Conseil des arts du Canada, membre signataire de la PSEC, membre de la Glass Art Association of Canada, du RAAV et de l’atelier 4-Arts (centre d’artistes).

"Nature is not for us. It is part of us." This Amerindian saying takes all its meaning in her work as an artist. Through the metaphor of the object, she creates abstract landscapes that reflect all the sensitivity to her view of the world. She wants to show the ephemeral side of nature, of our nature. The experience, the wear of time, the impossible life of all these objects are part of her world that she seeks to make more poetic. Her interior territory is revealed by the atmospheres which become the witness of her thoughts, her emotions and her questioning towards our collective knowledge.

"La nature n’est pas pour nous. Elle est partie de nous". Cette parole amérindienne prend tout son sens dans son travail d’artiste. Par la métaphore de l’objet, elle crée des paysages abstraits qui reflètent toute la sensibilité à son regard sur le monde. Elle veut ainsi faire état du côté éphémère de la nature, de notre nature. Le vécu, l’usure du temps, l’impossible vie de tous ces objets font partie de son monde qu’elle cherche à rendre plus poétique. Son territoire intérieur se dévoile par les atmosphères qui deviennent le témoin de ses pensées, de ses émotions et de son questionnement vis-à-vis notre savoir-être collectif.
