Biography

Majored in Linguistics, with a background in translations and writing, Lavi Picu is an interdisciplinary artist that wears multiple hats: emerging self-taught visual artist, poet, ghost writer, blogger and Lyme disease advocate. 

She uses painting and poetry as alternative forms of self expression as well as pain management therapy for Lyme disease. Her mission is to illustrate in multiple mediums the invisible symptoms of chronic Lyme disease.

Artistic approach


My art and poetry showcase the complexities of living with chronic illness. I combat pain through creative endeavors, voicing  my Lyme experience to raise awareness.

Creating my own path, I rally against the stigma attached to this illness, breaking taboos and revealing what my illness feels and looks to me, empowering and validating others touched by Lyme, a multisystemic, multistage inflammatory infection, a topic often abstract and alien for most people.
