I have recently returned to Canada after living in London, UK, for 30 years, where I worked as a theatrical prop maker and set dresser, before re-engaging with my art practice and doing an MA at Camberwell College of Art. I was appointed Canadian Artist in Residence at Dulwich Picture Gallery in London, in connection with the Painting Canada exhibition of work by the Group of Seven, where I had a solo show in 2013, and stayed on to work as teaching artist with the gallery for the next 7 years. I was involved with South London Women Artists from 2008 - 2019, exhibiting with them in many London gallery spaces, including Tate Modern.
Being Canadian and a lover of the outdoors has always influenced my choice of subject matter. I make large drawings on paper, in oil pastel, charcoal or ink, of river waters, trees, fields of grasses, weeds and wildflowers.

My work reflects a love of exploration and the outdoors. Since returning to Canada, to a province I have never lived in, I have been exploring and engaging with the wild open spaces around Calgary. My intent is to invite the viewer into these wild, yet quiet areas, and allow space for quiet contemplation.
