Marie's artistic journey goes beyond conventional boundaries as she merges her healing practice with her creative endeavors, using them as a portal to express and embody her profound “Why” - a deep desire to facilitate transformative experiences and awaken the human spirit. 

This healing practice serves as a rich source of inspiration, informing her artistry and enabling her to tap into the boundless imagery of the unconscious mind through the practice of expressive mark making. 

Using a wide range medium such as acrylic and oil on canvas, collage paintings on paper, and digital compositions, Faulkner's contemporary non-objective abstract style draws viewers into uncharted territories, stimulating their extrasensory senses and inviting them to go beyond the familiar.

Marie’s creations serve as a bridge the gap between the visible and the invisible, awakening the viewer's extrasensory senses through a visual language that resonates with the soul.

Each artwork becomes an invitation for viewers to embark on their own inner journey and explore the depths of their being.

Marie Faulkner is currently a resident artist with a studio at La fab sur Mill, an artist owned coop and art centre, in Chelsea, Quebec.

My work is an exploration of the human experience and the concept of one-mind unity consciousness. Through visual abstract imagery and symbolism, I aim to evoke a sense of universal mystery and transcendence through, inviting the viewer to have their own personal exploration through the direct experience of the painting and to contemplate their own existence and the connection between the physical and spiritual realms.

I believe that art has the power to transcend the material world and connect us back to something deeper, something that can only be felt and not explained. My paintings are not meant to be understood with the mind but experienced with the heart.

As a mixed media artist/painter I use color, form, and texture to create an emotional and spiritual experience for the viewer. My art making materials include the use of charcoal, acrylic and oil paint and collage onto a variety of substrates such as canvas, wood and paper. My process begins with gestural mark making, that allows me to enter an alpha brainwave where I can readily make a mind/heart connection to express the imagery of the superconscious mind, making the invisible, visible. 

Guided by this vision, I aim for my art to ignite a spark of inspiration in people, reminding them of their innate creative power and the limitless possibilities that reside within them.
