Nanda is a mixed media artist born in Mexico, she likes to touch subjects like feelings and emotions, primary to be able to communicate and make the viewer feel empathy towards the art. Nanda is mostly inspired by the behaviour of people around her, influenced by what people say, do or how they act and graving an idea through that. She finds inspiration in everyone; some of her favourite techniques are photography, oils, and drawing, mostly in the impressionism style. Nanda attends St. Lawrence college for fine arts, and she exhibit her art at the student commons gallery and St. Lawrence college foyer gallery. She’s created since she could, starting with scribbles to paintings and graphite work. 

My artistic practice is about the raw act of expression, I create with the intention of authenticity rather than perfection, I look to be able to say something; this is why my work is mainly surreal and abstract mirroring the complexity of human emotions. 

Through my art I want to be able to make viewers conscious of the uncomfortable feeling of emotions, shearing an experience of different reactions. I experiment with different medias chosen to evoke different sensations but also show how texture has an important part on perceiving life. 

Being mainly inspired by whatever people say or do is tricky, having to always be conscious on what creates emotion on people and how to communicate it. I aim to not only express emotions but also to contribute to a broader conversation about the profound connection between art, emotions, and societal reflections. My goal is to engage a dialogue that transcends words.
