Nicole Vinette is an artist based in Victoria, British Columbia, on the beautiful west coast of Vancouver Island. She grew up watching her mother create art for her Fine Arts degree on their family’s dining room table and, although Nicole didn’t start on her own artistic path until she was an adult, her art comes from that same place of wonder as she continually rediscovers and fosters her own sense of play, exploration, and delight at stumbling across the unexpected.

Much of the work displayed in this collection was created during the global pandemic and represents the beautiful, humbling act of learning to just let things flow however they’re meant to...with curiosity, openness, grace, and so much gratitude. The strong sense of flow in this collection was also influenced by the days and weeks and months of yoga that Nicole practiced (and continues to practice) every day, and which often brought the stillness and space that allowed the inspiration for these pieces to bubble up and through.

Nicole primarily uses acrylic paint, epoxy resin, and pastel in her art, but loves to stretch and challenge herself to experiment and try working and playing in new ways and with different media. She has been fortunate to study with, and be mentored by, very talented local artists, generous enough to share their experience, skills, and talent. Her hope is that her artwork lights something up for someone else and gently inspires them to look within and rediscover for themselves their own beautiful sense of play, exploration, and discovery.
