 I love woods and lakes, meadows and changing skies, and am drawn to the challenge of capturing what connects me in the natural world in paint, etchings, collagraphy. Our family has had cottages at a Laurentian Lake for 5 generations, I grew up with no road, electricity, or phone. It was always a step away, to head to the lake for the summer, where the weather and the lake were key to the day’s unfolding. Since the 70s I have been aware of how fine a balance our natural world resides, how easily it can be tipped the wrong way. We now have to be more than custodians of our environment, we are at a crossroads and must all realize how gravely climate change has us tipping to a point of no return. My work reflects the elements of the landscape I have always loved, I hope making a window to magnify what we need to focus on, what is at stake.
