Growing up within an Indo-Canadian household, art was viewed more as a hobby instead of a respectable career choice, but naturally, her soul has wanted to create since her childhood. 

Upon graduating from Design school with an Advanced Graphic Design and Advertising Diploma, Sheena acquired agency and business management experience. She later started her own business where she utilizes her design and advertising expertise for various clients.

Despite her passion for design, she felt a void. For her, art has always been a creative expression of self, and she realized it needed to be brought back into her life. Realizing how much happiness it brought her, she decided to “go pro” in 2019. 

Sheena loves playing and experimenting with new techniques to evolve as an artist and break social norms. Her pieces are composed of an artistic practice grounded in understanding movement, restraint, intuition, flow, and spontaneity. 

 

She generally works with bright and vibrant palettes, predominantly acrylics, to express her personality. Through applying colour to canvas, Sheena explores her emotional states in relation to the movements and decisions she makes while giving life to each piece. Her artwork is a journey from head to heart, which involves surrendering perceived control and ultimately, freedom. There is immense beauty in letting go.
