Growing up in Copenhagen, TINA has for the last 15 years been living full time between Paris and Nice but mainly in Bella Bella Nice choosing the sun, the light and the Mediterranean Sea. As young she studied languages and economics but as she was Always driven by her spirituality, she also studied biopathy/Naturopathy. Being a self taught, intuitive, abstract and meditative painter is just a natural extension of these choices. She paints by using acrylic colors on canvas. Paintings are signed in the back. 

My inspiration originates from the sea, the sky, the mountains, the wind all non constrainable, non controllable natural powers, hence for me representing freedom/liberty and independence. Painting mainly in all shades of blue, blue representing for me purity, the beautiful Mediterranean Sea, the blue sky, being here but flying with wings wide spread out. 

 

When looking at my paintings I hope to inspire these emotions/feelings that give a sensation of freedom/free spirit, joy, sea, sky, purity, spirituality and peacefulness. 

 

To start my process, I apply with bare hands and with wave like movements a thick layer of structure, texture. I love the mountain-like heights and depths this process and material forms. I let it dry up before painting with acrylic colors mainly in all shades of blue using palette knife, brush, different rollers etc.. I apply a layer of resin in order to protect and give some brilliance.
