Biography

Actively explored oil painting in all relevant representational styles for nearly 20 years (2004-2019) Received a BA in studio art from McMaster University in 2009.  

Artistic approach

The oil paintings presented here were painted from life in my home studio or plein air in the period 2005-17. I work mostly in the alla prima technique and varnish the painting with a gloss varnish when finished. I am inspired mostly by the outdoor works of the Group of Seven, and the still lives of the Impressionists.
