Due to the expectation of Black men are to always be strong and not show signs of vulnerability, this artwork has the model curled up into themselves ignoring the healing beauty around them. The flowers in the photo like the works of Kehinde Wiley, are representative of the vulnerability and the colorful and bold nature of vulnerability that is present in Black culture, but Black men are typically not encouraged to engage with.
